Charrette Invitation

“Our Urban Stream: Visions for Dixon Creek near the Willamette”
Design Charette, Saturday, June 27th, 2009 / 10 am to 3 pm

Corvallis architects and planners interested in exploring sustainability concepts for public presentation at daVinci Days (17-19 July, 2009) invite you to participate in a half-day design charette on Saturday, June 27th, from 10 am to 3 pm (location in Corvallis TBA).

The theme of this year’s daVinci Days is water, so we’ve chosen to look at the natural features associated with the Dixon Creek area between NW 10th Street through to NW 5th Street and how they interact with a multitude of land uses & transportation issues. We plan to produce several varied visions of and inspirations based upon this diverse and representative site.

We’re forming design teams of architects, engineers, planners, designers, landscape architects and related professionals to create a community vision for future mixed-use development. Architects will facilitate the team effort – integrating input from other members, and resulting in comprehensive design strategies to grow a sustainable future in Corvallis. Please join us as we demonstrate for our community the strength of a collaborative vision.

Professional participants will receive 4 HSW Continuing Education hours (approval pending) and we’ll provide a nice lunch in exchange for your taking part.

Please contact Chick Gerke (541) 757-0554 [chick@crgarchitect.com] as soon as possible to allow us to plan for your participation. Chick will also add you to the Google Group and other weblinks for background information.
